Welcome to our guide to sailing in the Cyclades

We spent the summer of 2007 having a wonderful time sailing around the magical islands of the Cyclades. Even in the height of the season we found secluded, deserted anchorages, warm waters, exceptional food, outstanding history and helpful and friendly people wherever we went.

It would be selfish not to share this experience and we hope to provide some of the information you may need to make your cruise more enjoyable. If you are still wondering whether to go sailing in this part of Europe, perhaps this will encourage you to take the plunge – both figuratively and literally! For a detailed guide to the places we visited during our summer in the Aegean go to the Harbour and Anchorage page.

On the other pages on this site, we have included a few words about ourselves, some notes on the conditions to expect, suggested boat preparation.

Please feel free to make comments and add any information that you think would be useful to others.

Our cruise in the Cyclades was followed by a trip home to our home port of Falmouth through the French waterways from Marseilles to Le Havre. You can follow this journey at www.yachtvalla.wordpress.com

Happy browsing!
